Privacy.

PEP/NEWS does not run analytics, ads, or third-party tracking. We don't drop cookies. We don't fingerprint. We don't sell anything. There is almost nothing on this page because there is almost nothing to disclose.

What we don't.do

No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Mixpanel, no proprietary log shipping.
No advertising. No display ads, no sponsored placements, no affiliate cookies.
No first-party cookies. The site sets none.
No third-party cookies. Beyond the YouTube exception below, no external cookie sources are loaded.
No tracking pixels. No Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no TikTok Pixel.
No newsletter list. If you want updates, the RSS feed is at /feed.xml.
No accounts. Nothing to register for.
No fingerprinting. No canvas hashing, no WebGL probing, no font enumeration.

What we do.load from third parties

YouTube embeds. When the day's brief features a video, the thumbnail is a static image hosted by YouTube but it does not run scripts or set cookies. Only when you click play do we load a YouTube player from youtube.com/embed. If you don't click play, nothing of yours leaves the site. We previously used the youtube-nocookie.com domain for marginal cookie deferral, but reverted to youtube.com because some restrictive networks (corporate firewalls, school filters) block the nocookie variant and the videos wouldn't play.

Fonts are self-hosted. The display fonts (EB Garamond, Source Serif 4, JetBrains Mono) are served from pep.news directly. We do not request anything from fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com.

Server logs.edge

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare retains standard request logs (timestamp, IP, requested path, user-agent) for operational and abuse-prevention purposes per their privacy policy. We don't aggregate these into our own analytics.

Email tips.contact

If you email tips@pep.news, we obviously have your email and the content of your message. We don't add tippers to any list. Mail is handled by ImprovMX inbound forwarding.

Your rights.what we'd need to delete

Because we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to access, export, or delete on your behalf. If you've sent us an email and want it forgotten, reply to your own thread asking for deletion and we'll honor it.

This site honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There is nothing for us to opt you out of, but we'd honor the signal if there were.

Changes.

If anything in the practice above changes — for example if we ever add analytics — we will update this page and link to the change. There is no fine print.
